Hmmm…Best Buy cracks down on Geek Squad?According to a release on Associated Press, Best Buy will increase scrutiny of the computer tech employees of its highly advertised Geek Squad business. The release said that in the last few months, the Squad employees have been blamed for making copies of porn, music and mysteriously fascinating pictures. The world of the Internet is so harsh. Allegedly, bloggers are now calling Best Buy’s company the “Peek Squad.” It appears that employees and ex-employees are saying it is because of the rapid growth of the company. So it looks like Geek Squad has not been able to do as thorough a check as they would like regarding their new hires. Here is the question: How do you determine if a new hire would copy porn, music or pictures? The Squad is pretty big. They have roughly eleven thousand employees. It is worth noting the words Best Buy uses to calms our fears regarding the employee issues. Best Buy says the problems are caused by scoundrel employees and are not typical. The reason why you should definitely keep doing business with Geek Squad: customer’s personal pictures and other data files are definitely safer with them than with most independent computer repair services. Hmmm…Really? How do they know that? My mind is at ease. |
