The Windows Registry is just another way of saying a directory that stores settings and options for the operative systems for Microsoft Windows, thirty-two-bit types, sixty-four-bit types, and Windows Mobile. It also includes content and settings for all the hardware, operative system software, most non-operative system software,users, and preferences of the P.C, and more. A user creates changes to Control Panel settings, records associations, system policies, or most installed software, the new differences are mirrored and put in the registry. The registry provides a window into the operation of the kernel, exposing runtime information such as performance counters and presently active hardware as well.

 

This usage of the Registry Mechanism is conceptually the same to the way that two things called Sysfs and Procfs bring out runtime information though the file system (traditionally seen as a place for lasting storage), although the information mode is able to be seen by each of them, it is different tremendously and completely. The Windows Registry was invented/introduced to clean up/tidy up the profusion of per-program INI files that had been used many times before to store configuration settings for Windows programs. These files seemed to be/tended to be scattered all over the system, which made it even more difficult, hard, and troubling than before to track them.

I would use the software application called a Registry Cleaner to clean up/tidy up anything that is out of place or scattered on a Windows Registry as well. Although, sometimes files tend to be scattered all over the system, which makes it even harder to track them, a Registry Cleaner such as Registry Mechanic is still the best way to repair any system registry. It does not matter if it is a Windows XP or Windows Vista, a Registry Cleaner will still work for repairing, deleting, or cleaning the registry.
